SynTest SELECTS JAPANESE DISTRIBUTOR

Spinnaker Systems to Offer SynTest¡ Ðâ s DFT Solutions for UNIX and Windows NT Platforms

Sunnyvale, CA, USA and Tokyo, JAPAN - November 23, 1998?SynTest Technologies, Inc.
(Sunnyvale, CA, USA), an EDA company and supplier of DFT tools for IC designers and foundries,
announced today that Spinnaker Systems (Tokyo, Japan) has been selected as its Japanese
distributor.

Spinnaker is working closely with SynTest¡ Ðâ s Tokyo office to support Japanese customers of
SynTest¡ Ðâ s solutions for improving a design¡ Ðâ s testability by reducing defect levels and
shortening tester time.

According to L.-T. Wang, SynTest Technologies¡ Ðâ  president, "The Asian market has always been
important for us, since our tools are used and needed by many successful companies.
We selected Spinnaker Systems to augment our sales and support efforts in Japan because we
needed an experienced EDA distributor to address the increased interest in our DFT tools."

Spinnaker offers SynTest¡ Ðâ s TurboFCE¢  â , an RT-level fault coverage enhancer; TurboBSD¢  â ,
a boundary-scan test suite; TurboCheck¢  â , a gate-level and RT-level design and testability analyzer;
and TurboScan¢  â , a partial-scan and full-scan synthesis and ATPG program.

SynTest¡ Ðâ s products are available for UNIX platforms. Windows NT versions of SynTest¡ Ðâ s
TurboFCE and TurboCheck were introduced last month (10/19). SynTest¡ Ðâ s fast, software,
gate-level fault simulator, TurboFault, is available through Kanematsu Electronics, LTD (KEL),
Japan.
